Malta Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting Minutes

  1. Call to Order
  • o Round robin: Rosemary Veseth, Kiwanis – 8 people helped clean at Robinson house. Will be helping as always at the Boys Scout Booth at the Fair, as well as with the Fruit and Veggie art from the Boys and Girls Club of Malta

Dr. Michael Veseth – Still across the street and busy

Marko MSU Extension Agency – No crop tour due to weather, but still had the provided meal. Good crops by Big Sandy

Dara, Todd’s Technology – Gearing up for Crazy Days, lots of items on sale. They have been doing lots of installs of TVs and Satellites

Jessi, Independence Bank – New Real Estate Lender, Randi Coleman, starting June 30th

Tanner, First State Bank – Shred day full before 1:00pm. Over 160lbs of  food donated to Malta Food Bank

Ann, Blades – Pedicure season in full swing keeping Chelsea very busy

  • Merchants
    • Star Gazing Event, Thurs July 12th @ Phillips County Drag Strip
  • Nice turnout and evening
  • Steve Schumacher, Mardy Demarais, and Kevin Cambell facilitated
    • Crazy Days set for July 21st
  • Vendor Fees: $20 Non Chamber Member and $10 Member
  • Julie Snellman will be in park to organize
  • 6 Vendors signed up so far
  • Some of the attractions will be: Waterslide and Water melon eating contest
  • Sports
  • Arts
  • o Art Mural to begin progress hopefully soon
  • o Prep work to begin and prime
  • o Waiting on scissor lift and ect to get lined out
  • Membership
  • o Dues: $4855.00
  • Renewals: VFW
  • New Members: TransCanada Keystone Pipeline
  • Tourism and Marketing
  • o 1,396 Facebook Likes
  • o 756 Instagram Followers
  • o No guest Instagramer for July
  • o Phillips County Branding : Rooted In
  • Donations from City of Malta, Phillco and Malta Chamber of Commerce to help with the launch
  • Working with banner company to get the banners ordered
  • Member Education and Investment
  • o “Stop the Bleed” event to be scheduled for late summer
  • Technology
  • o First State Bank Yellowstone E-Waste Event
  • Saturday August 4th @ 10am, Ezzie’s Wholesale parking lot
  • Will be accepting electronic items to be recycled

  1. Old Business
  • Fireworks Fundraiser
  • o Boot drive held at Car Show, raised $141.00
  • o Radiothon held Thursday June 14th, raised $4220.00
  • o Firework show went well and beautiful
  • Malta Chamber Farmers and Artisan Market
  • o First event was June
  • o Great evening, nice number of vendors and great attendance
  • o 2nd Market was scheduled for Tues July 10th, but was canceled due to weather
  • o Next Market : Tues July 24th 6-8pm

 

 

  1. New Business
  • Malta Chamber Summer Olympics
  • o Summer fundraiser event with local taverns, similar to Putt Crawl
  • o Held Saturday July 14th , registration was held at GN and awards and after party with music, was held at Stockman Terrace
  • o 11 teams participated, held a 50/50 raffle and Poker Run Contest
  • o 1st place team was Jet and Bri Anderson, Jace Anderson and Shae Bishop
  • o Best Olympic game was awarded to Kid Curry – Beer Pong Battel ship
