Malta Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting and Annual Meeting

  • Blades – still looking for volunteers for Donkey basketball
  • 1st Security Bank – Chayana Stolem is the Business in Focus
  • FSB – Ag day is coming up
  • Kiwanis – presented 38 BUG (Bring up grades) awards and working on supporting swishfest and easter egg hunt. Need new members
  • Triangle – check their website for business grants and micro grants. Bring your gadget training is on Apr 6 at the Library
  • Art Spot – working with Dodson and Whitewater schools for their workshops. Easter art projects with the PC Ministerial Association and showcase on Good Friday.
  • Ezzies – continuing to support the area
  • Art’s – getting ready for Ag day and Spring Clean Out sale on Apr 6
  • Patty’s – 2 greenhouses are planted
  • Veseth – come in early, don’t wait till it hurts
  • Swim Team – fundraiser raffle tickets are still available
  • Radio Shack – Getting ready for Ag day and now have Google Home’s available
  • PCN – papers will be available on Wednesday morning, they are closed Tuesday afternoon to get the deliveries together. Have Ag day features coming out
  • PCI – continuing business
  • Lesley Robinson – looking forward to next adventure
  • KMMR – getting ready for Ag Day
  • Library – gadgets class Apr 6, knitting class Apr 10, Imagination Library hoping to move forward (provides a book a month for any child from birth to age 5) will look for support in future months. Classics reading challenge going on, read portion of list and name entered into drawing.

  • Congratulations to Art Lundstrom, Person of Influence!
  • Speaker: Tom Depuydt, Phillips County Farm Bureau
    • First established in 1919 as part of the Extension Office, that provided education, labor needs at war time and memorandums of agreement across counties and resources.
    • Now the largest and strongest farm and ranch lobbying organizations. Focus on landownership and responsibility.
    • They can work on any issue that effects Phillips County, as long as it doesn’t contradict the state, they normally have backing of the state.
    • They propose resolutions that hopefully are brought forward to legislation.
    • Three resolutions have passed and become MT state policy in first year. One is now national policy. 2 are now policy from last year.
    • Highway 191S billboard, Where’s the Food/Without the Farmer sponsored by Farm Bureau
    • New Projects: Great Falls High School presentations in March to over 300 9th graders about ranching and stewardship, ½ day ranch tours for school children in May
    • Working with PhillCo and others to try to bring a railroad load/grain facility to Phillips County.
